A storyteller who develops content with a call to action, Katie enjoys working on projects that are meaningful, collaborative and instigate social change.
She holds a Doctorate of Creative Arts from the Writing and Society Research Centre at Western Sydney University, receiving an APA scholarship to pursue her research. Her thesis involved researching and writing a creative non-fiction book on families living with autism.
Having commenced her journalism career on rural newspapers more than 30 years ago, Katie believes that interviewing farmers, politicians, police officers and bikers was the perfect training ground—helping her appreciate that everyone has a story.
She has since written for a wide variety of Australian newspapers and magazines, as well as custom titles, journals, reports, websites and newsletters.
